A while back I posted an inquiery about doorskins or 1/8" luan - common lumber store variety and I got a lot of people who built with it. Your wood is fine. All plywood manufacturers use waterproof glues these days simply because it's economical to use the same glue for everything.
This winter I'm building a S & G Hybred with 1/8 luan. I found it at a local lumber Co. I can't believe the quality for a $7.80 a 4 x 8. Beautiful stuff.

Don't worry, your wood is perfect - also remember, you're going to epoxy encapusalte it and probabley glass the outside.
