g'day mate! It would be a lot of trouble for this application, but my grandfather did do this for the mahogany race boats he built. He was quite a guy. He raced boats on the Mississippi River. He took a V-12 engine in the 1930's and put it in an inboard mahogany boat. Nobody could beat him, so he decided to race for show and let the guy who came in second have the first place trophy! My kayak is going to be used for a 500+ mile trip down the Mississippi River past where my grandfather used to run his boats.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to keep it for future reference... maybe to make a bronze headstone in case I don't make it on my trip!!!
