: Hi John,

: FWIW, my groove is 5/8". I used Rob Macks' method of using a length of
: vinyl tubing, (5/8" O.D.in my case), to keep the space uniform and
: also to provide a nice curved fillet of dookie schmutz.

: Wiping up a coaming with auto body putty? That sounds a little scary.

Hi Jim,

I'm sure I can do it but the trick is it will take three fill wipes about 8 feet long because it shrinks down a little each time. The putty use to stay plyable for a while so I have to work fast then lay it around like a garden hose and let it set in that position to take shape. I will be all elbows and you know what. The inside of the shape will be greased molding wood and the outside shape will be a metal wiping gage. I am getting ready to go to Muncie to see the movie A.I. and then to Lowes to pick up the molding shapes. A 5/8" edge radius may be a little hard to find and I may have to make it.

Take care,
John
