James you are correct about vacuum bagging plane parts, its been a few years since I had read anything on this process so I did some searches and realized the difference in what I was wanting and what they do. But did find a couple of decent sites on building a vacuum pump with a refrigerator compressor.I also think I rember reading in a magazine or book somewhere that company's supplying treated deck lumber use a similar method to treat their lumber. Also while at my mothers for the memorial day cookout.I noticed in some of my father old stuff was a vacuum pump, with gauge, and resevoire.Looks like it was for some mediacal or surgical use. I think I'll experiment with a few pieces of wood and maybe a chamber made of metal pipe.
