Hatch hold downs with web loops

I'm going to be using web-loop bungie hold downs on my deck (Joe Greenley style). The slots have already been cut in the deck and the loops have been made for the deck rigging. I was going to use nylon webbing straps for the hatch hold downs, but decided (after corresponding with Rob Macks) that bungie hold downs will do a better job exerting a continous downward pressure on the hatch lids.
My question is how do I make the bungie hatch hold downs detachable with the web-loop arrangment? My first thought was to make a snap fastener on one of the loops. I'm concerned about the strength of a snap and also I'm not sure where can I get SS snaps? Any other ideas would be appreciated.

Here's a link to Spidey's page showing the web-loop hold downs for those who can't picture what I'm trying to describe.

Thanks,
Jim
