Great tool for Greenland paddle

My brother lent me his (made in china) Harbor Freight brand electric hand plane a year ago and never got it back. For roughing out the paddle, you can't beat it. I do about 2 hrs work in 2 minutes. You got to be careful and don't get too close to finished because you can run the piece in seconds. But for roughing out it's great. I think it cost about $39. I believe they went up a few bucks. After you build one you know where you're heading. A first timer should work more cautiously since you don't really know the shape from memory. I scratch in a center line on the width (thickness) and off I go. Makes great mulch also.
I finish up with all the regular tools - plane, spoke shave, sanding etc.
