I really don't mind TV, but it's a poor primary pastime. I feel sorry for people who are actually challenged by watching TV.
I enjoy watching it while I'm working on other things. I can give 95% of my concentration to my boat, and 5% to the boob tube, and still understand what's going on on TV.
I'm too young to remember the real thing, but I'd love to have the old radio programs to listen to while I'm working.
