Had hoped to get out to see some of this leg of the race, since it is almost in our back yard, but have been too swamped with work. There have been some pretty good winds around here this past few days, but once they get through Lake Winnibigoshish, they will be on the river and winds won't be a problem. Lake Winnie (as we call it) would be the big obstacle. It is roughly circular and 12 miles across and averages only about 30 feet deep. It can blow up some really rough water in almost no time. No place to get caught in a squall.
