In Response To: Rope as a coaming lip (Dave Seales)

: I've read somewhere about using a length of rope to form a coaming lip. I dug
: out a piece of 5/8 poly rope and wrapped it around my lipless coaming and
: it looks like it would be perfect if I tinted the epoxy so you couldn't
: see the rope. Has any one tried this?

My brother used rope on one early stitch and glue boat he made. Worked fine. He used a regular 3-strand twisted rope saturated in epoxy and basted onto the coaming with light thread.
