Matt;
Two comments;
1- I built a S&G and had a minor blunder on a seam that I wound up filling with micro balloons. This required painting the hull to cover my secret. I used a two part polyurethane. Stuff is potent and I would recommend an appropriate respirator when using it, indoors or out. I wound up with some runs because I did it in a dark garage on a windy day. Don't be afraid to brush and brush until it starts to set up. Foam is a good idea for finish coats.

2- An alternate finish I would consider is to buy some pigment for expoy if you want one of the standard colors. I used white. I mixed it with the epoxy to finish the inside of the front and rear under deck areas with it to increase the visibility. I would use it on the hull next time. Again, brush, brush and brush until it starts to thicken. It will smooth out without runs.

Good luck
Jeff
