I would ditto Rehd. TPI and set don't have much effect on the cut finish of your strips. On my mill I use blades with 10 teeth per foot. Some leave a very smooth surface others don't. What appears to make the difference is the uniformity of the set. If you get one or two teeth with too much set they'll leave a trough every time they go by.
