Peter, you'll have an easy time fairing that edge if you run some masking tape along the sheer just about an 1/8" below the round-over. Epoxy the glass neatly onto the tape but don't use so much that it wants to drip down the sides of the boat, then again you could use some of that neat 3M tape and plastic sheet combo for just the occasion. When the epoxy is a firm "green" stage you can run a razor blade parallel along the side of the hull cutting the glass and fairing it at the same time while gently pulling the tape and glass at the same time. I find that a little extra care at this stage will reduce the amount of sanding down to a few swipes with 100grit on a soft sanding pad. Running the deck glass further down the side of the hull is unnecessary unless you want a raised strip for some reason but paddle whacking and beach bashing is more of a likely wear issue than sheer bumping.
