: As an ex sailor I am embarrased to even ask this question but here go's. I
: tied the shock cord both in front and behind the cockpit in a basic square
: knot, that I thought I had pretty tight. My sister was practicing a paddle
: float rescue and when she pushed the paddle under the back cords one of
: the knots came loose. Not too bad where we were at the time but maybe not
: so good were she alone. What kind of knots do you guys and gals use that
: will stay tight with such a strechable product?
: Any help would be appreciated,

: Nick

: (by the way, I was on a aircraft carrier, in an aviation squadron, so we
: didn't "do" knots)

Hey Nick

A squid that didn't tie knots???? Heck, I thought that's all you folks did. How'd you keep those birdies on the deck?

Yeh, I was in the air farce and we didn't have rope. Our planes just had 4' thick concrete walls around them to keep them from going anywhere.

I used to cheat, when I tied a knot that was suppose to stay there, I just lit amatch and melted a part of the knot together and it wasn't going anywhere. I never was a scout either. :(

Probably should wait till everyone has injested as much chocolate and ham and eggs as they can handle and I'm sure someone can give you something pretty to tie. I'll be watching as I need to learn this as well.
