In Response To: Sheer strip trouble on Great Auk (Ronnie)

: I am having trouble fitting the deck sheer strip on my Great Auk, where the
: strip changes from somewhat vertical to almost flat. There is a place
: there that I don't know how to fit. I am using the forms that round off
: the sides, instead of the straight sides. I have built a Guillemot 17, and
: had no problem with the sheer strip.

There are more experienced people who might respond but I think you want to put a rolling bevel on the strip, a lot of it at the ends, and maybe bevel the sheer on the hull to come up with a decent match. The angle in the joint goes from nearly zero in the middle to almost 90 at the stems, I presume.
