It should work on any tool that has a loud screaming motor and uses brushes. This would include a ROS, a Skil Saw, router, etc. These motors are called "universal motors".

It will not work on anthing that uses a "quiet" motor such as a lathe, grinder, table saw or drill press. The motors in these are called "induction motors".

Note that there are a few tablesaws that have universal motors (such as the Ryobi sliding table tablesaw), but these are the exception.
