Hmmm...
As the paddlers are further from the center of the boat, though, it
takes a larger moment to rotate them, does it not? Hence, the boat becomes
harder to turn.

I believe this was discussed here before - someone wanted to move their
cockpits closer together, and the conclusion was that as they got closer, the
boat might get "squirellier", for the same reason.

I believe Nick also puts the maximum recommended separation of the cockpits at
about 6 feet for his Guillemot Double, which is also a 20 foot boat.
I am not sure as to exactly how he arrived at that number, though, or whether
it is fair to compare the two boats.

Thanks for the food for thought, though :)
