: No one has mentioned this yet, but after looking at the chemical structures
: my guess is that people who are allergic to poison oak, or posison ivy
: (catchol compounds) will also have strong allergenic reactions to the
: Epoxy Part A. Are those of you who are sensitive very allergic to poison
: oak? This would also explain whly over time some individuals develop
: allergic-like reactions while others do not.

I am very sensitive to poison oak (no ivy around here, so don't know), but have no problem with epoxy resins. Very sensitized to the MDIs in urethane curing agents, and extremely sensitized to certain amine epoxy hardeners from several years of working for epoxy formulators and epoxy floor applicators. The symptom for all these chemicals is contact dermatitis, which eventually goes away upon removal from the irritant, sometimes requiring cortisone to control inflamation.

: Lastly, onece the expoy has cured there should be no sturcture similarity. SO
: I presume the allergenic response is specific to the Part A and not to the
: cured glass.

My reaction is to either the Part B or the partially cured mixture; the cured spoxy causes me no trouble at all.
