Don't know if anyone reads this thread anymore, but want to say Thanks Ross, because I just recieved my compass today. It is even better looking and higher quality than I had hoped and the price was great, think I would have been happy with this compass for $100. I liked the look of your recessed install, but don't like having a permanent "puddle" space built into my deck so I am letting that "simmer" in the back of my mind to see if an idea comes to me that I like better ....any non "puddle" install ideas out there ??? One thing I did notice was how heavy this compass was for such a small item. I can feel the high weight is due of the high quality construction, but I don't like the idea of hauling around another pound all the time for this compass when I am working so hard to keep he totoal weight down. Just one of those things that I will live with ... just want everything I guess, a great compass for less than $60 and very low wieght. Anyone know of a quality compass that does not weigh so much??
