Brett,

Bamboo “sheets” are available – mostly sold for flooring and tabletops. I agree, it is visually interesting but probably too plain for most peoples taste, and heavy. There was a string sometime ago that was prompted by bamboo sales spam. At the time, several of us proposed that thin strips of bamboo had potential among those concerned about getting holes in their boats. I saw some at Eco Timber in Berkeley about a year back, but don’t remember the manufacturer.
