: Looking for Okoume sorce in SF Bay area,Found one yard will order for for
: $57.00 a sheet, seem's kind of high.

That doesn't sound too bad to me. Chesapeake Light Craft's website says: "Our prices are among the lowest around 50 percent lower than some marine lumber yards so even with shipping costs you can save a bundle. We stock 3mm, 4mm, 6mm, and 9mm 4' x 8' panels. This is the same wood we use in our shop. Shipping is 2-day airfreight to most of the continental U.S."

Their 4mm is $45/sheet plus $75 shipping, so if you need 4 sheets for your kayak, you're coming out $27 ahead less your state's sales tax. So it's about a wash. Either you could have it delivered to your door but risk shipping damage, or pick it up at the lumberyard and be able to visually inspect the plywood before buying.
