Sometimes epoxy does

: Finally getting back to work on my skeg! Has anybody had any experience
: bonding wood to plexiglass? Thanks.

I've always used mechanical fasteners ( bolts, screws, etc.) for getting the odd piece of plexi attached to anything other than another piece of plexiglas. For plexi to plexi bonds I use a solvent.

Having said that, there is a bigger question here, and that concerns the physical shape and the bonding areas on the wood and plexi. There would be a considerable difference in trying to glue a large flat piece of plexiglas to a flat piece of wood -- say to make a table top -- as opposed to gluing the edge of a strip of plexiglas to the edge of a piece of wood, as you might if you were using it to make a strip built boat.

If the plexi is bedded into a channel or a rabbet then you might use caulking or bedding compound.

Give us an idea of the nature of the beast yuou are dealing with and we'll try to come up with ideas on how to tame it.
