: Mike - Try staple-less. No need to buy a staple gun or brad nailer, possiblly
: an air compressor to drive the nailer. A nicer hull results, and when you
: take it to the beach, those admirers won't ask you "What's all them
: little holes for?" Just a personal opinion... - John

I have used 1 1/2 inch ribbed pole barn nailes that have a thick rubber grommet on them and nailed next to the strip so the rubber grommet holds the edge of the strip down without marring it. The head sticks up in the air so you can pull it our later without any problems when the glue is set. If you drive the nail in tight next to the strip at a slight angle so the nail touches just the bottom of the strip you can tap the nail and push the strip tight against the strip you are glueing to with out marring the top edge of the strip. Spring clamp on top of the strip you are glueing to and the strip you are glueing will make them flush on top.
