I dumped AOL years ago!

AOL has always had problems of this type or another (not to mention their bizarre inability to allow viewing of e-mailed photos, etc. while reading the message). Their software is much like MicroSoft Windows or Explorer, though. The programs are bug-ridden, but the format is popular and the advertizing is everywhere. When you get big enough you don't have to provide quality or customer service. Who cares if you have to reboot while in the middle of something important?

Try another ISP or at least dump AOL's browser. I have used Earthlink w/ Netscape Navigator for years with very solid performance. Their tech support has always been helpful. Bigger is rarely better. Maybe if enough people get fed up and leave, AOL will get the message.
