I'm ready to stain my mahogany (cold molded runabout)and need suggestions for the best stain to use. I will be glassing w/ epoxy after staining and want to minimize adhesion problems.... I've heard that water-based stains are best..any suggestions for a brand to use?

Also, i need to fill some small cracks between planks.....1/16 or smaller....any suggestions for a filler that will take stain?

One more question....whats the best sequence.....fill first, sand, then stain??? Thanks
