Hmm.....

I used shrink wrap when I filled the joints of my take-a-part
with thickened epoxy. it worked wonderfull !

that shrink wrap HATES (!!) epoxy.

& there is another trick: experiment !

next time try to glue with epoxy whatever material you're using, to the wood,
& you'll know.
there are few types of shrink wrap, so experiment .

build less paddle more,
