: IF full-size plans are REQUIRED, THAT OUGHT TO BE MADE CLEAR, when one is
: buying the book.
: The other two books mentioned here do, in fact, appear to fulfill the
: promises made.
: Perhaps more care taken in what goes on the outside of a book will eliminate
: future 'misunderstandings'.

In what is certainly a more confusing situation, one of the older titles, David Hazen's book on strip building canoes and kayaks, contains full size patterns for several canoes and kayaks. The book is reasonably priced -- and a definite bargain if you don't want to loft your plans from offsets, or pay additional fees for enlarged plans. I understand there is a newer edition which deals with epoxy materials. I have the older edition which deals more with polyester resin -- and despite the anachronisms I find it a wonderful guide.

The full sized plans are most helpful if you plan to build one of his designs, of course. I can only hope that future designers will go this route and include a few extra pages with the patterns drawn full size.
