As the others have mentioned here, you probably want a coarser sand paper. I started at 80 and moved to 120 and 220 A. O. before varnishing. I also changed paper very often (about every two feet down the boat). Remember to keep the sander moving. If you sit on one spot too long, the epoxy can heat, melt and clog the paper. Be careful with the coarse grits on the hard chines, though. You can eat through the glass pretty quick!

If paper costs are getting you down, try one of the wholesale outlets such as Kingspor. It's pretty hard to beat their quality or prices.
