: Looking great.

: I noticed you installed a wooden pipe before the two halves are bonded
: together. That might make it a little harder to get the hull and deck ends
: to match since the hull won't be very flexible there. If the deck and hull
: match up easily let us know because it looks like a good way to put the
: pipe in.

: I like the cardboard cockpit to let you know where to put your deck patterns.
: I wonder where I've seen that before...hmmmm. ;)

HI Dale and All,

Most of my bright ideas don't work out and one will surly hit me between the eyes before this is over. I had planned to dowel the deck to the haul with 1/8" wooden dowel pins for an exact match when I put them back together but doweling into 1/4" strip edges I think is asking for trouble. But I have to make a decision now. I did make a nice simple jig-fixture for drilling straight up and down and if I can get something to work I will post a picture of later later. I am thinking of putting posts at a few points along the inside haul and deck shear and dow through them. The ones near the bow and stern could be left in place and glassed around before the haul and deck were mated, and they would never be seen. The ones near the wide beam center could be glassed around and later cut off, sanded and glassed over. But,,, if I glass the inside first, that means sanding it without the outside glass strength to hold the strips together extra well. Is it OK to sand the insides before anything is glassed? I'm at a critical point here and need some guidance. Thanks.

John
