At 5" 6" you could probably fit the SE. Dean Trexel has paddled an SE and he fit OK, I think. I am 5' 11" and while I can fit in it and paddle it, I would do better in the 16.

You can get an SE (LOA 15' 9") from the 16 (LOA 16' 2") numbers as follows:

Use the same offsets, but decrease the station interval to 11 11/16". On the bottom panel the station at 9 1/4" should be placed at 9". The station at 173 1/4" should be placed 5 1/8" past wherever the original 168" station ends up and the end of the panel at 11 3/8" past where the 168" station ends up.

For the side panel, change the 7 3/4" station to 7 1/2". The station at 187 5/8+" should be placed 7 1/2" past where the original 180" station ends up and the end of the panel should be at 15 1/2" past where the 180" station ends up.

Or more simply multiply all the lengths by .974 (be sure to rescale the cockpit location by this factor). The finished length of the boat should be 15' 9". Keep all the rest of the measurements the same. Hope this makes sense, it sounds more complicated than it is after I typed it :) .

This is exactly how we do it.
