: John,
: Great! sounds like your deep into your project. What kind of design are you
: building? What kid of paddling etc.? Show us some pics.

: I don't know if this will help, (especially if your in mid project) but I
: think if we build another boat for lake paddling we'll proboblly drop some
: rocker off the midrifts and add more hull girth towards the bow and stern,
: to gain some initial stability. Were still crunching around on that.

: Tweaking is half the fun. :)AND..... its a great excuse to build another one!
: :)

: Well, today is canoe seats and mating Guillmot E deck/hull. Guess I better
: get into the shop.

Hi Russ,

I have chanced disigning my own kayak using the BearBack kayak design program and Nick's Little Auk specks, but making the design more rounded. It looks like it will have more girth towards the bow and I am hoping this boat will have more carrying ability like a canoe, but short enough for protaging over trails. I will post a picture of the haul which should be stripped in about two weeks, to give an idea of what shape it is going to be. I have been changing the shape of two of the sections as I build because they didn't seem natural for the strips to lay on. I have plans for building a greenland paddle and my daughters gave me a nice kayak paddle for christmas, so I can put building one on a back burner for now. I am drying a piece of white Ash from the woods on our wood stove and hope to have it on the stern and bow in two weeks.

Again, I really like you boat.
John
