I picked up one of these old Craftsman from a widow 15 years ago. While the fence stinks (by design) that can be replaced with a new unit. The original motor filled with sawdust and caught fire one night. I replaced it with a farm store 2HP sealed motor and expect it to last me for the rest of my life. I say go for it! Oh, by the way, the saw can be broken down so you can handle it alone.
