: Here it is! I've just finished my Prospector and had to show it off. The
: photo is a montage showing the deck with the hawk's feather under glass
: and some of the other touches. The accent strip is a build-up of Mahogany,
: Tiger Maple and Basswood, then stenciled with the quill and tip markings
: to simulate the hawk's feather on the bow. The bow and stern eyes are
: Tiger Maple blocks glued up and epoxied in place. All of the trim is Tiger
: Maple including the yoke. I had a blast! The wife and I took it out and it
: paddles like a dream.

Hi Mike, Really nice looking canoe. Is the "hawk" feather a real feather a real feather? If so, it is a chicken/turkey feather painted to resemble a hawk feather, right? If you would have, which you didn't, used a real hawk feather, the Feds would have your canoe confiscated as evidence for a big-time violation of the Migratory Bird Treaty. Just thought I would mention it in case anyone gets any ideas.
