: Can someone explain to me the process of "wet sanding"? What does
: wet sanding do that dry sanding doesn't? TIA Rookie Sander Don

I've been lurking for a few months and finally found something I can discourse about. Wet sanding!!!! My favourite thing to do (well kinda). I wet sanded the maple cupboards I made in my kitchen....progerssed all the way to 600 grit and then used rottenstone. The finish feels as smooth or smoother than glass. Things to remember- too fine a grit between coats of finish and they may not "bite" into each other. Also make sure that you have a thick enough base to begin with- I used 8 coats of varathane sanding with 220 grit between each one. Hope my limited experience helps ya out!!!
