Hi Tom,
That a great idea. When I do build mine, I will use an asymmetrical design to eliminate the lee board. It would look like a bananna cut length ways, flat on one side and curved on the other side, with the curved side positioned towards the kayak. Now, measurements. I wish I still had my cat to take measurements from, but, you could take the measurements of a hobbi haul, from a center line from bow to stern, measure to the inside curved portion of the pontoon. Then using the BearBack design program, put in your sizes, length, higth and width at different sections, but double all of the widths at the sections. The bearback program allows you to make and printout any scale size you want. Say, you print out 1/2 scale for your pontoons. Then take the cross sections and cut them in half, deck to keel, and that will give you an asymmetrical shape of a hobbi reduced in scale and a section for each pontoon. Is their anything wrong with this thinking?
