What makes you think they can help you. Imagine how many ships they have sunk and how many you have!

The best way to avoid sinking, in this case, is to avoid getting yourselve in hostile territory -- that means stay clear of those high speed power boat and jetski!

: I am trying to devise a way to use similar technology to prevent myself from
: having to make hard landings in my new Chesapeake 17. (Anything to avoid
: getting scratches on the bright hull!) There must also potential
: applications for other rescue techniques, bulkhead development, simpler
: portages etc. Remember, Velcro, WD-40 and Tang came to us from NASA, so
: why can't the U.S. Navy help us poor kayakers? I welcome your always
: well-reasoned suggestions. :-)

: Cheers,
