In Response To: GREAT WEB SITE (is dickey)

Newfound Woodworks used to have a similar BBS that had a canoe-building slant, but as far as I know, it's not running anymore. There are a few canoe builders here--Chris, Ross L. (closet canoe builder), Travis and maybe a few more I don't realize are also canoe builders.

Other than hull shape, there are very few differences between the mechanics of working on wood kayaks and canoes. If you have questions, by all means, fire away!!

: I have been checking in on this site on a regular basis since first finding
: it a few weeks ago. Kayaking is easily my favorite past time. I've built a
: strip kayak and I have bought a manufactured kayak as well. I enyoy using
: both. I get alot of looks and questions anytime I take the stripper. I
: also enjoy canoeing and I'm in the process of restoring an old chestnut
: cedar strip canoe that has been in the family for close to 40 years. A
: site similar to this, specific to canoe building would be a big help. If
: anybody knows of such a site I would appreciate the info. thanks in
: advance.
