You actually hit on something I forgot about. Yes, I coated the frame with several coats of boiled linseed oil with thinner which would act like a release agent. Use boiled linseed oil only - the non-boiled type almost never dries.

The skin is acting fine. I don't use the boat reguarly since I have a stripper so it only gets paddled once in a while and lays in the garage.
