After accidently falling onto this page while web-researching a tupperware purchase in January, I have finally installed one 18' strip on my Guillemot 17!

  • Jan - find this site
  • Jan/Feb - buy Nick's book, read cover to cover.
  • Mar-May - build strongback, supports, hand loft forms, make, string and align forms
  • May-last week - paddle tupperware, attend Newfound Rond.
  • last weekend - turn unused finished basement into Chris' boatworks, pickup strips at Newfound (Thanks Michael, they smell great!)
  • last night - spent opening strips, rechecking alignment, etc. (never realized how long an 18' strip of wood was)

While it was late, I couldn't resist the urge to install strip #1

So far so good! The curved ends needed brads (I found out after the stables pulled out, so I'll have a couple extra holes)

Digital camera is on order, should have in a month, I'll post pixs along the way and pester all of you with questions.

Here we go!
