: Hi, im about to start a guillemot double and i am thinking about taking two
: inches out of the middle of the boat to make a little faster and make it
: look a little sleeker i figure i would leave the last four forms on either
: end alone as the boat tapers drastically about there i was wondering if
: anyone has tried this or has any thoughts on why it would or wouldnt work

: thanks

I think the G2 could go on a slight diet of 2" or so. Remember that the kayak will sink more with the same weight in it so I'm not sure how much you'll save in drag.

Would you taper the amount you took out, say 2" in the middle, 1.5 on each side of the middle form, 1.0 on each side of that, etc...?

Would you take a vertical strip out of the middle of the forms? If so that would also decrease the height slightly.

If you have a computer program you could leave the height alone by shrinking all of the forms by 26/28 in the width only. If you try it, let us all know how it works out.
