Broken Paddle

I have an old Klepper wooden kayak paddle (late 60s or early 70s),that had splits on both blades. I have epoxied the cracks and fiberglassed the face of the blades. Should I go ahead and fiberglass the backs of the blades while I am at it. It is a light paddle and I don't want to mess it up with too much glass. Also the shaft was cracked and I fiberglassed the center section of the shaft, with extra reinforcement over the crack. Sounds like a lot to save an old paddle, but it has a real nice spooned blades, and really looks and paddles good, and works good with my Guillemot 17.
