Hello,

I just brought home a kayak from my mothers attic, that has been there since the house was built in 1951. I was told that the kayak was built in 1931 by my grandfather, but I do not know how accurate the info is. It is about 10-12 feet long, and is canvas covered of a red color. It has a wood frame. It is pretty streamlined. The beam is about30" wide, but I have not measured it to be sure. I do not know if this qualifies as a kayak, since the top of it is open, almost like a canoe, but the back edge of the opening is straight not "V" shaped like the front. Not a good description, but I hope you understand. I am just trying to find out how popular these were, and if they are of any value. I have it hanging in my back room and do not want to sell, but I would like some info on it. Thanks for any and all information any of you can give me.
