Joe Greenley has something like that on his truck. Those top boats are way up there!

I saw a utility trailer adapted this way once, but I thought that the tounge was a little short. You want the wheelbase just behind the center of gravity so it's easy to move by hand. Even a several-hundred pound trailer is easy to move on a flat surface. Lockable storage bins, and some way to cover the boats for outdoor storage would be plusses.

: If I was looking for a trailer, things that I would want

: - Wide track (the distance between the wheels)

: - Open aired long box (wire mess) between the wheels for paddles and gear,
: along with a covered area (wire mesh) for lighter items such as wetsuits
: and lifejackets to dry/air out.

: - I like the idea that the racks are removable so that the trailer could have
: multiple uses

: - The racks would be nice if you could add on a section to carry for more
: boats. A two boat trailer is all I need today, but it would be nice to be
: able to hull up to 6 boats, (how about using the same idea as a receiver
: hitch, put in a section and add a pin to add another level.)
