Need fabric to cover outfitting foam??

After a couple of years of use I am now finding that the foam that I installed under deck of my CLC boat is causing abrasions when I paddle on long trips in salt water. Don't know if I am getting soft or if foam is getting rougher, but I need to upholster it. I have heard that some use speaker grill material from radio shack applied with some sort of car upholstery spray adhesive. Any other options that would provide a nice silky-smooth covering, that would stick well with to foam with proper adhesive, and that would not be destroyed in a marine environment?

Thanks for any thoughts, Dave Walker
