Hi Brent,

You will trap lots of air bubbles in the epoxy with a mixer. You could try it with a cordless drill at slow speed.

: My Chesapeake 17 is stitched and ready for filets. One of the CLC
: publications shows a home-made epoxy mixer made of a dowel with a few
: screws sticking out like fingers. You use this with a drill. The other day
: I was at a thrift store and they had a big box of odd electric mixer
: beaters for 50 cents and I thought "Aha!" Everything I have read
: about epoxy is that most problems stem from inadequate mixing and this
: looked like a good solution. Has anyone tried this? I would probably mix
: on low speed as to reduce bubbles but would like any more feedback. By the
: way, I bought a safety wire twister based on the recommendations here a
: while back and can't estimate the hours and numb fingers this has saved
: me. Strongly recommended!

: Thanks,

: Brent
