I don't think Eric's post was conflictual. He just mention the S&G baidarka as another option. especially since the strip built is thought to maybe have some issues.

Shearwater is not huge yet like CLC or Pygmy so not everybody knows about them.

By the way, I did just finish a Shearwater Merganser 16, and I own a Chesapeake 18, and I'll be starter a stripper this fall.

I did love the lines on the Shearwater baidarka by the way. Its a fantastic multichine. Saw it down at the Mystic Boat Show and Eric was building one there to check out. never got to paddle it though..
