I've already done a couple of cedar-strip canoes, and am going to be building a couple of strip kayaks this winter. I have'nt decided for sure on the design or model, but sure do like the looks of some of Guillimot's offerings. My question is: Has anyone had any experience with SINGLE sea kayaks with a larger hatch to accommodate a small child? I don't want a double as I think it would be too cumbersome when I go out alone, but want the option for my wife and I to take the kids along with us if we want.
