Hi Todd;

Cool! Welcome to the Vaclav hatch club! Since the hatches will pop up by themselves because of the weatherstrip, and since the hatch will go flush when it hits the stops on the hatch lips, and since most hatches are convex to the deck, the hold downs are not as critical as some other designs.

I plan to use 1" webbing with plastic buckles for quick access. I really like Ross's invisible (interior shock cord) hold-downs, but decided to add some more accent to the deck with the webbing. It also eliminates the finger groove, but that's really no big deal.

I am guessing most anything would work, including shock cord. The webbing w/buckles seems to offer the easiest access to me.

Best Regards, Spidey
