Hi Andrew, The design is I guess what I would describe as a combination of several boats I like, heavy on the Guillemot. After drawing and lofting I thought things looked pretty good until I started on the deck. I had one form I must have drawn wrong as it was a little off. I also did not know where to cut the forms for the recess and just winged it. All came out pretty well but I think I'll leave the designing to Nick, his brother Eric, Jay Babina and of coarse Joe Greenly. They as well as several others have some beautiful designs. Take a look at Newfound Woodworks, they have a great assortment of designs from all the best designers and have everything you need. If you are in the area there is a rendezvous coming up in September in New Hampshire, one on the west coast that Joe sponsors as well ( http://redfishkayak.com/ ) that is in my opinion the best place to shop and learn. There's plenty of sources to chose from! Pick one and go for it!!
