Deck-hull joint

I did the inner tape on the deck joint this weekend, what a hassle! After reading extensively of the cumulative experience, I hot-melted spots onto the hull, and reached in with a foam brush on a stick. The first seam went OK, but some epoxy got onto the other side and the tape pulled away from the seam while side 1 was curing. So, on one side, up into each end, there are spots 2-6" long where the tape pulled away.

The only thing I can see to do is reach in there with a pull-saw or a rasp and open the bubbles as best I can. Then glob unthickend epoxy into the seams with the "pad-on-a-stick". I'm sure I'm not the first to encounter this, is there a better solution? I really dont think its feasible to get in there with enough leverage to sand.
