I use just a cheap 24 dollar sprayer with a water seperator

Hi Doug,

I have been thinking about getting a sprayer for applying paint & varnish to the kayaks.

Been looking at the Wagner "airless" type of sprayer. Figure that "airless" would be preferable to conventional sprayers because they would not dissipate the solvents in the varnish as badly. The Wagners come in a variety of "duties" and are rated by their power. By reading the boxes, it looks like the 85 watt model is too light a duty and I think that I would have to go for the higher model - I forget the rating number.

What brand & model of sprayer are you using? Would you buy this sprayer again or would you change to an other one with different features?

What do you do with the sprayer in-between spray sessions to stop it from plugging up with varnish?

BTW, what is a "water seperator"?

Somebody once commented that if you consider the setup and cleanup times for these sprayers that they were more bother than it was worth and a brush would be much more efficient.

Comments?

Thanks.

Hank
